THE RULES
OF THE
FIELD.

Plain language summary: Scoutwork is a tool to help you run proactive outreach campaigns. Use it to do real work. Don't use it to harass people or send spam. The AI output is a starting point, not a guarantee. We're in beta — bugs happen. If something breaks, tell us.
01

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Scoutwork (“the product,” “the service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the product.

These terms apply to all users, including invite-list registrants, beta testers, and any person who accesses the product through any means. We may update these terms as the product evolves. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

02

The Product

Scoutwork is a career offense platform that helps professionals identify target companies, research decision-makers, and draft personalized outreach — before roles are publicly posted. The product uses AI to generate intelligence briefs, positioning documents, and outreach drafts based on information you provide.

Scoutwork is a tool. The quality and appropriateness of your outreach is your responsibility. The product does not send messages on your behalf without your explicit instruction, and it does not guarantee any outcome — interviews, responses, offers, or otherwise.

03

Accounts

To use Scoutwork you must create an account, either through Google OAuth or email-based authentication. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your credentials secure. Do not share your account.
  • All activity that occurs under your account.
  • Providing accurate information when creating your account.

Accounts are personal. You may not create accounts on behalf of other people without their knowledge. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

During closed beta, access is by invitation only. Receiving or sharing an invite code that was not issued to you may result in account termination.

04

Acceptable Use

Scoutwork is built for genuine professional outreach — reaching people at target companies with relevant, specific messages before roles are posted. Use it for that.

You may not use Scoutwork to:

  • Send unsolicited bulk messages or operate as a spam tool.
  • Harass, threaten, or stalk any individual.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity in outreach.
  • Scrape, harvest, or compile personal data about individuals beyond what the product surfaces in normal use.
  • Violate the terms of service of any platform you contact people through (LinkedIn, email, etc.).
  • Violate any applicable law, including laws governing unsolicited commercial email (CAN-SPAM, GDPR, CASL).
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or circumvent any part of the product or its AI integrations.
  • Use the product to build a competing product or service.

We reserve the right to suspend access for any user whose use appears to violate the spirit or letter of these terms, at our sole discretion.

05

Your Content

You retain ownership of content you upload to Scoutwork — your resume, campaign notes, outreach drafts, and other materials. By uploading content, you grant Scoutwork a limited license to process and store it for the purpose of providing the service to you.

We do not claim ownership of your content. We do not use your resume, campaign data, or outreach drafts to train AI models or for any purpose beyond operating the product on your behalf.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you upload does not infringe on the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties.

06

AI-Generated Output

Scoutwork uses the Anthropic API to generate intelligence briefs, positioning documents, and outreach drafts. AI-generated output is provided as a starting point for your own work — not as factual, verified, or legally reliable information.

You should:

  • Review all AI-generated output before acting on it or sending it.
  • Verify factual claims independently before including them in professional communications.
  • Edit drafts to reflect your own voice and verify that they accurately represent you.

We make no warranty that AI-generated output is accurate, complete, or appropriate for any particular purpose. We are not liable for outcomes resulting from your use of AI-generated content.

07

Beta Status

Scoutwork is currently in closed beta. This means:

  • The product is under active development. Features may change, be removed, or behave unexpectedly.
  • We may experience downtime, data loss, or service interruptions. We are not liable for any such events during the beta period.
  • Beta access is a privilege, not a right. We may revoke beta access at any time for any reason.
  • Feedback you provide during beta may be used to improve the product. We appreciate it and will not compensate you for it.

When the product exits beta and pricing is introduced, we will communicate the changes clearly and in advance.

08

Limitation of Liability

Scoutwork is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the product will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular result will be achieved through its use.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Scoutwork and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the product.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the product will not exceed the amount you paid for access in the 12 months preceding the claim. During the free beta period, this amount is zero.

09

Termination

You may stop using Scoutwork at any time. To delete your account and data, contact us at the address in Section 11.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms, if we believe your use poses a risk to other users or the product, or if we discontinue the product entirely.

Upon termination, your right to use the product ceases immediately. We will retain data as described in our Privacy Policy and will delete it on request.

10

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in the courts of Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
